Park Orthen
  • Trees transform into stones, continuing life and transmitting memories through different materials. The design takes inspiration from the ossuary at the end of the cemetery, with the church as the centerpiece, creating a mirrored image. An interactive water pool is introduced in the entrance area, creating a public space for relaxation. To ensure vehicle access and universal accessibility, a sliding gate is used. Even pedestrians who do not enter the cemetery can use this space for daily activities. By adding a symbolic water pool, the design not only enhances the characteristics of the cemetery but also activates the entrance as a potential public space for the neighborhood.

The sliding gate, inspired by the existing vegetation of the cemetery, abstracts the shape of tree branches. It consists of panels with a height of 1.5 meters, simulating a layered effect.

The bottom of the water pool is made of simulated stone with terrain shape, and the placed boxes correspond to gravestones, the number of which increases with the growing number of users. Ashes become trees, trees turn to stones; death is not the end, but rather a continuation in another form through different materials.
